Two American officials announced this morning that the US army thwarted a drone attack targeting its forces at the Ain Al-Asad base in Iraq hours after the Baptist Hospital massacre in the Gaza Strip, which sparked anger across the Arab world. Reuters quoted American officials, who requested anonymity, that American forces intercepted two drones before they reached their target at the base, which is the most prominent US base in Iraq. The two officials refused to reveal who they suspected carried out the attack.
