Despite this, the director stressed “Americans should continue to be alert and careful, but they shouldn’t stop going about their daily lives.” Director Wray, along with DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas and National Counterterrorism Center Director Christine Abizaid, testified before the House Homeland Security Committee on global threats to the U.S. Among the topics discussed included border security, the increase in religious and ethnic-based hate crimes in the U.S., threats from China, and the rise in homegrown domestic terrorism.
