Position Title: Palestine Project Coordinator
Position Type: Part-Time (15-20 hours/week)

Reports to: Head of Palestine/Israel Program
Location:  Washington DC

Arab Center Washington DC (ACW) is hiring a Project Coordinator to be based in Washington, DC, on a part-time basis. The Project Coordinator helps with research and coordination activities for the Palestine/Israel Program at ACW. The Project Coordinator collects and organizes information on Palestinian history, human rights, and politics, contributes to the design of an online database to aggregate and curate information, and produces regular reports on the project progress. They also establish and maintain contacts and professional relationships with relevant experts and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Research, collect, record, and analyze relevant data.
  2. Synthesize, organize, and curate large amounts of information and resources.
  3. Help create plans and designs to aggregate and curate information online.
  4. Present research data to ACW team on a regular basis.
  5. Use research results to write regular reports to colleagues and other stakeholders.
  6. Establish cooperative relationships with like-minded individuals and organizations working on similar projects.
  7. Consult as needed with academic experts and activists to accomplish project goals.
  8. Conduct basic opinion surveys to identify trends and needs.
  9. Work with in-house communications experts and website designers to present data online.

Required Qualifications

  1. Master’s degree in relevant field of study such as History, Political Science, Middle East Studies, or International Relations.
  2. Strong data collection methods and research skills in related disciplines.
  3. Strong knowledge of the Palestine issue and information resources on the topic.
  4. Strong writing and communication skills in English language.
  5. Strong computer skills including MS Office, Google Workspace, database management, and social media.
  6. Basic proficiency in Arabic preferred but not required.
  7. Familiarity with web-based information projects preferred.
  8. Experience in project coordination desired.
